AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

During the school year students are scheduled for two one-hour sessions weekly. Enrollment is on a monthly basis. A student may be in the program for as short a time as four months or for an entire school year, depending on needs and rate of progress.

SUMMER SESSION CLASSES

Groups usually meet one hour and fifteen minutes daily, four days a week during the initial five-week session. Additional instruction is available throughout the summer.

ADULT PROGRAMS

Adults may have a variety of difficulties, ranging from basic word recognition and word analysis skills to problems with silent reading rate and comprehension, or the development of written language abilities. We plan a highly personalized program which will lead to measurable results as soon as possible. Adult students referred through agencies for rehabilititation or prevocational training may be enrolled on an intensive basis during the morning and early afternoon hours.

THE ADVANCED READING COURSE

For high-school students, college students and business people, a course in developmental reading skills emphasizes the improvement of rate and comprehension, as well as vocabulary and study skills.

We recognize the need for many individuals to increase their rate of reading comprehension for greater efficiency.

CONSULTING SERVICES

Members of the staff of the Reading Guidance Center are available to consult with school districts, public agencies and private industry regarding the implementation of reading programs or training courses.

The Reading Guidance Center staff is composed of skilled and credentialed teachers who are experienced in this specialized teaching field. These instructors have been trained in a variety of methods.

Upon request of the parent or school, we will be happy to share test results and reports of progress. Some partial scholarships are available. We welcome inquiries on all phases of the Reading Guidance Center program.
